Herbed Salmon and Dill Pilaf for an Elegant Seafood Dish

Herbed salmon paired with dill pilaf is a sophisticated and flavorful dish that is perfect for special occasions or a refined weeknight dinner. This recipe combines the richness of salmon with the fresh, aromatic notes of dill, complemented by a fragrant rice pilaf.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • Fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup long-grain rice
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Additional fresh dill for garnish

Preparation of Herbed Salmon

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the salmon fillets with salt, pepper, and chopped dill. Drizzle with olive oil and place lemon slices on top of each fillet. Arrange the fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove from the oven and set aside.

Preparing the Dill Pilaf

While the salmon is baking, prepare the pilaf. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the rice to the saucepan and cook, stirring frequently, until the rice is lightly toasted, about 2 minutes. Pour in the broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.

Stir in chopped dill and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with additional dill before serving.

Serving Suggestions

Plate the herbed salmon alongside a generous serving of dill pilaf. Garnish with lemon wedges and extra dill sprigs for a fresh presentation. This dish pairs beautifully with a crisp white wine or sparkling water with lemon for a light, elegant meal.
