Ingredients
- 1 pound ground lamb
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita or flatbread wraps
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Fresh vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce)
Preparation
Start by combining the ground lamb, chopped onion, garlic, and spices in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly until well blended. Form the mixture into small, elongated patties or logs suitable for wrapping.
Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the kofta until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Meanwhile, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing Greek yogurt with lemon juice, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
Warm the pita or flatbread wraps slightly to make them more pliable. Spread a generous spoonful of yogurt sauce on each wrap.
Place the cooked kofta on the wraps, then add fresh vegetables such as sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and lettuce. Drizzle more yogurt sauce over the top if desired.
Roll up the wraps tightly, cut in half if preferred, and serve immediately. Enjoy the authentic flavors of Turkey in every bite!
